A Unique Partnership

Sept 18, 2008 - Thanks to recent generous state tax incentives, filming in southeast Michigan has exploded in recent months and the cities of Rochester Hills and Rochester are ready to welcome the film industry. Today marks the launch of a joint website that represents a unique partnership between communities in an effort to attract film production to the cities.

The new site, which can be found at www.filmrochesterarea.org, provides many helpful features designed to entice film industry representatives to consider filming in our cities. With an interactive Photo Gallery highlighting such features as residential homes, businesses, parks and Rochester’s traditional downtown, we make it easy for production companies to appreciate the flavor of our two cities.

The Permit Process has been streamlined with the appointment of a shared Film Liaison designated to Sheppard film productions through the often complicated process of dealing with multiple jurisdictions and agencies.

Residential and industrial Available Space in both cities can be searched using on-line tools, thus, allowing film industry professionals to research these options from anywhere in the world.

And Resources such as hotel and restaurant locations, as well as other film industry contacts in Michigan, are easily accessed through this site.

For more information about this new website, the communities’ unique new partnership or filming in Rochester Hills and/or Rochester, you can contact the Rochester Area Film Office’s Film Liaison Ed Anzek at 248.656.4660 or via email at film@rochesterhills.org.
