Automation Alley

Automation Alley was founded in 1999 to help grow and support the existing technology cluster within southeast Michigan. The Automation Alley Member Consortium has turned this collection of businesses into one of the most respected and fastest-growing technology groups in the nation. This region is working together to turn southeast Michigan into an internationally recognized center for technology through the initiatives of the Automation Alley Member Consortium, the Automation Alley Technology Center, the Automation Alley Export Center and GLIMA, Automation Alley’s Association of Interactive Professionals.

The Automation Alley Technology Center is located within the Automation Alley Technology Cluster - the world’s largest automotive technology development center. As southeast Michigan’s premier technology business accelerator, the center leverages businesses, universities and governments to help entrepreneurs bring new technologies to market quickly and more efficiently. Its mission is to offer entrepreneurs and small companies the turnkey support and resources that assist them in turning their ideas into usable, marketable technology solutions.

The Technology Center offers:

  • Pre-seed and commercialization funds
  • Assistance for business plan and strategy development
  • Resources for the educational needs of technology businesses
  • Interaction with a powerful network of experts and mentors
  • Access to partnerships through a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center and the National Automotive Center - the only federal research lab in Michigan
